The Department of Land and Survey (DLS) is one of Jordan’s key government institutions responsible for the registration, documentation, management, and protection of land ownership and property rights throughout the Kingdom. Operating under the Ministry of Finance, the Department maintains Jordan’s official land registry, cadastral maps, and property records while providing accurate surveying services and supporting urban planning, investment, and sustainable development. Through its headquarters in Amman and a nationwide network of directorates and land registration offices, the Department serves citizens, businesses, investors, engineers, surveyors, financial institutions, and government agencies. It plays a fundamental role in safeguarding real estate ownership and ensuring the legal security of land transactions.
Established in 1927, the Department has developed into Jordan’s official authority for land registration and cadastral surveying. Over the years, it has modernized its services through digital transformation, electronic land records, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), online property inquiries, electronic title deeds, and integrated e-government services, making property transactions faster, more transparent, and more efficient.
