The Royal Hashemite Court (RHC) is one of the Kingdom’s highest constitutional institutions, serving as the official administrative and executive office of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. The Court acts as the principal link between the King, state institutions, the armed forces, civil society, the private sector, diplomatic missions, and the Jordanian people. It coordinates royal affairs, supports the King’s constitutional duties, organizes official engagements, and follows up on the implementation of Royal directives and national initiatives. Through its headquarters in Amman, the Royal Hashemite Court plays a central role in supporting national development, strengthening state institutions, and promoting public service throughout the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Royal Hashemite Court traces its origins to the establishment of the Hashemite Emirate of Transjordan in 1921, evolving alongside the Jordanian state into the institution that supports the constitutional responsibilities of the Monarch. Throughout its history, the Court has contributed to national decision-making, coordinated state ceremonies, facilitated communication between the Crown and government institutions, and supported initiatives that advance economic development, social welfare, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and humanitarian assistance.
The Court oversees a wide range of responsibilities, including organizing royal audiences, official visits, ceremonies, and state events; coordinating Royal directives with ministries and public institutions; receiving citizens’ petitions and grievances; supporting Royal initiatives and charitable programs; managing protocol and diplomatic affairs; and providing administrative, legal, media, and advisory support to His Majesty the King. It also works closely with the Royal Hashemite Court’s specialized offices, the Royal Hashemite Documentation Center, the Royal Protocol Department, and other affiliated institutions to ensure the effective implementation of royal programs and national priorities.
The Royal Hashemite Court is headed by the Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court, who serves as the King’s principal administrative advisor and oversees the Court’s operations, strategic coordination, institutional development, and communication with government entities. Working alongside senior advisors and specialized departments, the Court supports the implementation of the King’s vision for political modernization, economic reform, sustainable development, public sector improvement, and enhanced citizen services.
Today, the Royal Hashemite Court remains a cornerstone of Jordan’s constitutional system and national leadership. By supporting the work of His Majesty King Abdullah II, coordinating national initiatives, strengthening cooperation among state institutions, and fostering dialogue with citizens, the Court contributes to political stability, social development, humanitarian efforts, and the continued progress of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
