Queen Alia International Airport

Description:

Strategic Location and Connectivity

Leveraging Jordan's central location, thriving touristic potential, and growing network of direct flights, Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) - operated by Airport International Group - has steadily emerged as a premier regional nexus for leisure, business, and medical travel.

Terminal Expansion Milestones

March 2013 marked the momentous inauguration of the new QAIA Terminal Building - located 35 kilometers from the heart of the capital, Amman - under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, raising annual passenger capacity from the initial 3.5 million to 9 million passengers. Nearly three years later, in September 2016, the second phase of the Terminal Building was launched under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, bolstering annual passenger capacity to up to 12 million passengers. To accommodate future demand, several projects are currently underway to expand QAIA’s capacity even further – up to 18 million passengers annually.
