الوصف:

The Jordan Hejaz Railway is one of Jordan’s most important landmarks from the Ottoman era and forms part of the historic railway that once connected Damascus with Medina. Built in the early twentieth century, the railway was designed to improve transportation and facilitate the journey of pilgrims traveling toward the holy cities.

Amman Station became an important stop along the railway and contributed to the development of Amman as a growing transportation and commercial center. The historic station complex preserves an important part of Jordan’s railway heritage and offers visitors a glimpse into the country’s transportation history and the remarkable engineering project that once crossed the region.

The Hejaz Railway also played a significant role during the First World War and the Great Arab Revolt, making it an important destination for visitors interested in Ottoman history, railway heritage and the modern history of Jordan.
